THE UNSPOKEN ….THE UNHEARD….
Sohini Mukherjee

“EMOTIONS” – can these eight letters sum up the different kinds of feelings that the word actually consists of? I guess no; because the eight letters do not make up the word. These are feelings of a human mind hidden in the eight letters ….. some of which remain unspoken, unheard…..

As we grow up, various emotions also start growing within us – happiness, sadness, anger, jealousy, hatred, lust, love!!

There are certain things in this world that we love, that we wait for. They come and before we realize they suddenly disappear – Happiness is one such thing – we love it, don’t we? But like many good things in this world, it is also very momentary. I heard it in a movie “Happiness is a state of mind and it comes from practicing and it comes from practicing”. If we practice smiling for just 5 minutes we will see that after a while it will come naturally. So, why not try it once? J

Sadness, just like happiness, is another state of human mind. We all, always, somehow or the other try to run away from this feeling. But I guess it’s fast enough to catch us and show us its dogmatic nature. B-U-T , according to me the word happiness would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. One who has not experienced sadness, can surely not appreciate happiness. I see people often try to hide their tears from the world thinking that tears will make them look weak – is it true? Do tears really make a person look weak? They are just the sad and unwanted things of our mind that we shed through our eyes. I guess that is the reason why people who cry often have a “clean and clear” mind.

Jealousy – anger – hatred …..these three emotions are somehow are interrelated. Not always, but most of the time one of the feelings gradually leads to the other two. These emotions are often so strong that they make us impulsive, go weak on our knees, we tend to lose our mind and do all kind of nonsense. Is it not stupidity to let these feelings get heavy on us? According to me, of the three, jealousy is the most common and silliest emotion – it creeps in when we are insecured about ourselves – but why do we get insecured about ourselves? Can we not love ourselves just the way we are, with the things we have? Can we not stop comparing ourselves with others? Can we not love others for being better than us rather than being jealous of them? Can we not …………?

Lust is another strong emotion and often dirty if it comes alone. Now a days people often confuse lust with love and give lust the name of love. Lust will come where there is love but love might not creep in where there is only and only lust.

Love of all the emotions, is the strongest and the most beautiful feeling. It may hurt us a number of times, but we should never lose faith in it and give it another chance, and always, another chance. I feel mere words cannot explain this feeling because, at the end of the day we don’t explain love, we feel it …… J
